Carrier compatibility ensures proper melting, mixing and dispersion of pigments or additives in the base polymer. Poor compatibility can cause streaks, weak properties, poor surface finish and processing problems.
Masterbatch provides colour, UV resistance, antioxidant protection, opacity, antimicrobial performance, flame retardancy, processing improvement and special effects in rotomoulded products.
Rotomoulding has long heating cycles and no screw mixing during moulding. Therefore, the masterbatch must have excellent dispersion, thermal stability and compatibility with the base polymer powder.
